Utopia
Presented by The Electronic Literature Foundation
Thomas More's Utopia, originally written in Latin, was published in 1516. More gives a detailed and realistic description of a perfectly organized society located on an island in the "New World". More's story is a revision of Plato's "Republic" and can be seen as influencing later works such as Swift's "Gulliver's Travels".
